The government of Georgia to halt the spread of the coronavirus made the decision from 17 April to ban the movement of cars in the country. This was stated by Advisor to the Prime Minister of Georgia for international Affairs Irakli Chikovani.

"Tomorrow 12:00 (11:00 GMT) for the duration of the emergency, i.e. until 21 April, the country has completely prohibited the movement of cars," - said Chikovani.

As the Advisor to the Prime Minister, the restrictions will not touch freight and distribution vehicles. According to him, in normal mode will continue to work pharmacies, grocery stores, shops, and service delivery.

In Georgia because of the pandemic coronavirus from 21 March to 21 April on a regime of a state of emergency. Since March 31, the country has prohibited free movement, from 21:00 to 06:00 curfew.
Earlier, the government appealed to the President with a request to extend the state of emergency until may 10.
