Postmortem examination of the body of the deceased from the first of a new type coronavirus COVID-2019 in China showed that the virus mainly affects the lungs, evidence that the virus affects other organs is not enough.

The deceased was a 85-year-old man was admitted to hospital in January with multiple cerebral infarction. During hospitalization the patient was not observed fever, cough and other symptoms.
On the 10th day after admission, he developed discomfort in my throat in the form of itching and a high temperature, computed tomography showed the presence of infectious foci in both lungs.
On the 13th day after hospitalization, analysis of patient viral nucleic acid of a new type of coronavirus was positive, the patient confirmed the diagnosis COVID-2019.
On the 20th day of hospitalization, repeated imaging of the lungs showed foci of further spread of infection on both lungs.
On the 28th day, the patient died, the cause of death was established as "pneumonia caused by a new type of coronavirus, respiratory failure".

The autopsy was conducted not more than 12 hours after the onset of death in a hospital of Wuhan.
The results showed that the characteristic inflammatory reaction is damage to deep parts of the respiratory tract and pulmonary alveoli, which causes pneumonia caused by a new type of coronavirus. Previously taken from a deceased tissue samples showed that the pathological process at COVID-2019 are very similar to atypical pneumonia (SARS - severe acute respiratory syndrome) and MERS (middle East respiratory syndrome), however, anatomical dissection showed that fibrosis and seals in the lungs when COVID-2019 is not so serious as with SARS, but the exudative reaction was worse than SARS.
If the virus affects other organs such as the kidneys, spleen, experts still find it difficult to say because the deceased was elderly with a variety of other diseases, so to answer this question requires further study.
